“Accustomed to the veneer of noise, to the shibboleths of promotion, public relations, and market research, society is suspicious of those who value silence.” ~ John Lahr
Welcome to The Solitude Matters — a blog exploring the intersection(s) of introverted personality traits and extroverted cultural values. It is a site of introspection, analysis, and musings that also aims at levity — after all, in the words of Vaclav Havel, “anyone who takes himself too seriously always runs the risk of looking ridiculous; anyone who can consistently laugh at himself does not”.
I invite all “introverts” who read these postings to discover “community” and also to participate and comment in order to contribute to it.
I invite all “extroverts” to take a moment out of hectic life, to explore an alternate and valuable way of being in the world, because to introverts and extroverts alike, The Solitude Matters.
